The term “born again” was started in the Bible to express the need to be Baptized. But Satan has caused many to turn away from the water Baptism, that even Jesus allowed himself to have, “doing the will of the Father” Its sad that some try to twist around the Holy Word of God to match the way that they have reasoned out their faith. But the majority of the the world religions believe in a water Baptism, so those who don’t believe, will eventually fade away, while another “new” religion will emerge, and try to push their ideas upon us. As Catholics, we have been saved and born again by the Holy Spirit in our Baptism. When those “religions” come to you and ask ” are you saved?” what they really are asking is for you to believe in an idea that is fairly new, and in error, because they want you to forget about your Baptism, as if it was wrong. Many times they tell me, ” I can’t believe that any Catholic is saved” Satan is using them to try to get us to drop our Baptism, and in fact to give up our Catholic Faith.
