What is a good gift to give for a baby's catholic baptism? Recently when I went to my boyfriend's Godson's baptism, the presents consisted of four rosaries, two crosses (plus a crucifix), a few bible and saint books, and at least three stuffed animals that pray. What can I get my best friend's baby for his Baptism this weekend that is not the same old cliche Baptism gift??? PLEASE HELP.
There is a store called "Things Remember" that engraves. If there is one close to you, they have great gifts, like blankets and all sorts of things. Find something you like and have it engraved with his name and the date of his Baptism.
I usually give a savings bond for their college fund. Sometimes if it's a girl I give a piece if jewelry (like a cross or a bracelet) for her parents to save till she's older.

I'm catholic but I'm not like oldschool… most people don't attend church regularly anymore so those gifts sound a little pushy to me. When I had my son baptised we didn't get much stuff like that. We got lots of clothes, books, photo frames and albums and one person gave me a subscription to Parents Magazine (I loved that gift)

You can maybe get a gift certificate for classes like a Mommy and Me class. Everyone will be getting this baby savings bonds.

We often gives books. One of our favorites is "Love You Forever" by Robert Munsch.
If you want a religious themed book try one by Brian Wildsmith or Tomie de Paola. They are beautiful but not sappy.
